Movin on up to the North side to a deluxe house in the sky!

I am back online now with the internet. Over the next week or so I will get pictures and videos up either here or somewhere else online and post the link.

As of 18 August 2009, I am officially a volunteer with the Peace Corps. Also on that same day, I moved up North to Floresti. So far things have been quiet which has made the transition easier. And my family is great, although I am a little sad that my new host father left today. He is in Moscow for the next three months working there. Right now my nephew is staying here with us, but once school starts in a week he will go back home and it'll be just me and my new host mom.

There is a ton that I should talk about, but the last 10 weeks went by as such a blur because we were constantly busy, especially once practice school started. Our swearing in day was bittersweet for me. Sweet in that I was happy to become a real citizen within the Peace Corps, but sad to leave the new friends I had made in Costesti (other volunteers, kids and neighbors in the village) and especially my host family there. They were so good to me and we were just starting to really bond and have cute family jokes. But I plan on going back for visits and they invited me to come for the holidays.

Its late here, but wanted to drop a quick note so everyone knows I'm still here, alive and doing well. More to come soon!!
